The MarkJector hand-held marker is particularly suitable for projecting arrows or other markings, such as numbering, at crime scenes, enabling contact-free marking in documentary photography where it is difficult to place marks on a photograph.
It has the advantage of being non-contact marking, which avoids contamination by the marking, and can be used in all locations and situations where contact with the site must be avoided (e.g. highly contaminated sites, unsafe sites, risk of electric shock, high places).
The images produced remain authentic as they are not altered afterwards.
It can be exploited that when captured on still or moving images, three-dimensional space is represented in two dimensions, so that the markings on the image refer to the relevant object for the viewer, even if it is not in the immediate environment of the object. For example, a relevant part of an image may be marked by an arrow displayed in its surroundings or background, and the image will appear to have the arrow ‘pointing’ at the object.
The tool is simple to use and requires no special knowledge. The range of use is between 0.15-20 m depending on ambient light conditions.
